Alexander House Hotel and Spa

Room Tour Video on YouTube - Click HERE

Hi Everyone,

So for my birthday this year Chris booked for us to stay at the Alexander House Hotel and Spa in West Sussex.  I may have given him a big hint as to which hotel to book because I fell in love with this place as soon as I visited their website at the start of this year :) I don't think he minded the hint as it made it much easier for him to know what to get me for my birthday!

We travelled down to London and spent the day at Bluewater Shopping Centre as we hadn't been shopping there for sometime.  We often go to Westfield in Stratford now but going to Bluewater was a nice change, I think I prefer it actually.

When we arrived at Alexander House we made our way towards the Manor House to check-in, we was greeted by the manager I believe, who kindly took our luggage from us and took it to reception. We was greeted by a friendly staff member who checked us in to our Cedar Lodge Garden Suite, we was allocated suite number 16 (Petworth) which was located on the first floor so we had a lovely view over the garden area.  There are rooms on the ground floor but from what we could see, their terraces were screened off so you couldn't see out into the garden, so if you are able to book a first floor room then I would recommend this.

After check-in, a young gentleman gave us a tour of the hotel pointing out the Spa, restaurants and bar areas which was really nice as we was able to get our bearings quickly.  We was then shown to our room, which was incredible!  Our luggage was waiting in the room for us.

I was so happy when walked into our room as the room was so lovely, I really do love to have a nice hotel room and most importantly, the bathroom!  We was cheeky and asked at check-in if there were any room upgrades available but we was informed that we had already booked one of the best rooms in the hotel!

The room was very big and the furnishings and decor was spot on to my taste, almost like the room was designed and styled just for me.  The bed was so huge that I almost forgot that I was sharing my bed this my then FiancĂ©, now Husband :)

On the first evening we visited the pool and jacuzzis at the Utopia Spa onsite, there are bath robes and slippers provided in the hotel rooms and it was normal to see guests walking around hotel in these.  We didn't contact the hotel early enough to book spa treatments prior to our stay but I was lucky to have booked a pedicure on our last day when someone cancelled a reservation.  If you stay at the Alexander House Hotel and Spa and wish to book spa treatments you need to do this before arrival so you don't miss out, it's worth booking the treatments when booking your hotel reservation.

The hotel pre booked us a table reservation at their Reflections restaurant prior to our arrival as they told us their restaurants get very busy so they don't want their guests to miss out, I think this is really good.  We however cancelled our table reservation and opted for in-room dining instead.  We thought we would like to spend as much time in our room as possible as it was such a nice room.  We had never ordered room service before, ever, so it was so nice to experience it in such a nice room.  Our meals were absolutely delicious and the presentation was amazing!

After probably one of the best nights sleep ever, we got up and I got to open up all of my birthday cards and presents, it was such a nice day that I got to do this on our balcony!

Our breakfast arrived in a hamper and it arrived at the exact time that we had requested.  In our hamper we received:

Croissants, pain au chocolate, toast, along with strawberry jam, marmalade, honey and butter.  A bowl each of fresh fruits, and two boxes of Rice Krispies and a bottle of milk.  We also had a pot of tea and a bottle of orange juice.  As I mentioned before we was lucky with the great English weather so we was able to eat our breakfast on our balcony.  You can also opt for a full english breakfast too.

Later on we enjoyed a game of giant chess in the beautiful sunshine, and the birthday girl won :)  After my lovely pedicure we checked out of the hotel and enjoyed a nice drink outside.  I really didn't want to leave this hotel as we had such a lovely time.  The hotel is beautiful, the staff are so welcoming and friendly and it was so nice to have a night away from everyday life.

I truly do recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to stay here.
